We have several ring networks for remote I/O stations with Scalence XC208G/206 switches on our plant. Of late we have been experiencing frequent hang-ups on the switches rendering profinet equipment connected to that particular switch offline. When we physically inspect the switch, the F LED is lit indicating it's in fault state and only way to get equipment back online is cycling power to the switch. Could this have anything to do with outdated firmware or configuration issue?

do you get the same issues in any devices or only in specific ones?

We are using 4.0.1 firmware version.

We just had another failure on the optical port for another switch.
