SIMIT - Data Block import S7-1500

TechMicke Joined: 10/30/2022 Last visit: 10/3/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Bjarne__De_Smedt Hi, I am currently working with SIMIT SP (V 10) combined with Simatic Manager ("SM") and Simatic WinCC Explorer. I have made some DBs and FBs in my "blocks" folder in SM and the symbol table is changed according to these DBs. When I now want to import this symbol table, I export it as an asc-file. When that file is made, I can easily import that file in the PLCSIM Coupling in SIMIT by just selecting the asc-file and pressing "import". I only did it with inputs and outputs before (BOOL, REAL, Word and all kinds of data types). That worked without a problem. BUT NOW, I also want the DBs to be imported. How can this be done? I do not find any way to make this connection. I do need the data blocks because that is the way how the program was created. Every object has its own DB with every command etc. configured in that DB. So i need some DBxxxx.DBXxx and DBxxxx.DBDxx type of tags to make the logic connections in SIMIT, but I don't know how to fix this. Is there an easy way to load DBs into SIMIT? Do I need to copy the DBD and DBX tags and change them into in- or outputs? Because the last one feels weird to do. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance. Bjarne Hello , I'm reopening this post because I'm in the same situation. I looked at the answer given but I still don't understand how to read the DB of my S7 1500. I tried to use the ReadDataBlock but without success. I have tried to use the ReadDataBlock but to no avail. TechMicke Joined: 10/30/2022 Last visit: 10/3/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello , I reviewed the examples I found on the Siemens site but there is never any reference to Simit's readdatablock block, even though in Simit's document it is compatible with PLC Sim, Prodave and Virtual Controler. What surprises me is that when a PLC is loaded into PLC Sim, the DBs are also simulated, so I imagine that SIMIT can also read them, which would make the simulation part easier, but this seems to be beyond my current knowledge and it's not very simple. For having DB import you can use Virtual Controller instead of PLCSIM. See SIMIT V11.2 manual, p. 153 for further information. When you use a S7-1500 controller the software PLCSIM Advanced and a user-defined coupling in SIMIT can be used to access data blocks. You can contact your regional technical support team.
