I need to connect RFID module omron V680S PDF and cpu S7-1511c-1 PN. I did the folowing: 1. Added GSD file to the project 2. Assigned ip, names 3. Downloaded all hardware to CPU Now in TIA portal online view there are not some "red" label with errors, but omron RFID is not working. The led on the body of RFID "LINK/ACT" is flashing continously , in the manual this flashing disribed like "flash during detects carrier" . The led RUN is always green. Perhaps, somebody met this device and worked normaly with it, pls, i hope you can give me advice With best regards,Dmitry. Attachment 1.PNG (1051 Downloads)

If the reader is waiting for a PLC to connect the RUN LED would be flashing according to the manual. Just watch the first byte of the input area. After connecting the reader there should be some bits set to TRUE. Could you submit the commands you are trying to run?

I used the following commands: see attached picture After sending Q257.0 i saw red flash and in log was added error with error code 1003 Not any other reaction i saw Attachment 2.png (1147 Downloads)

Owei Gold Expert Joined: 10/1/2013 Last visit: 5/8/2024 Posts: 605 Rating: (71)	The addressing seems to be wrong. You have to turn it around I think. Check out attached picture. For command code "READ ID" you just have to set the bit 258.0 (I assume your I/O addresses of the reader start from 256). It seems like the readers response was an error. At the "error code" area (byte 258 and 259) there's a "1003" hex. This means: "A command that is not supported by the Reader/Writer was received" according to the manual. This makes sense to my assumption that your addressing is wrong. So to me it looks like everything is working find. All you have to do is to learn how to send appropriate commands :) Attachment omron_addressing.png (1003 Downloads)
