Hi

In the diagnostic buffer on our CPU we are getting a lot of Flow Transmitter events saying Module Problem or Maintenance Necessary and then about a minute later in the events it says Module OK?

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it means please?

When I look at the Settings for Display Diagnostic Buffer all the Display Events are ticked. Is there any way of filtering these events so that only the important ones come through please?

Hello GBMartin;

Can you identify the particular unit giving you these messages? Try the Help on message button on the doagnostic buffer screen to see if any other information appears that can help you locate it.

Or use the Save As.. button that will send all the messages to a text file that you can upload here, for us to examine with you.

From what we can see, the diagnostic buffer shows ON/OFF message faults (incoming/outgoing) that are about 1 second active, then a period of  1-2 hours passes before the next pair messages comes. It could be that this module has a faulty connection to your system; how is it connected,  hardwired (analog) signals, fieldbus? Can you check out the installation, verify connections, and check if it has any diagnostic LEDs or messages of its own?

There is no other way to filter out these messages except in diagnostics controls in scada screen.

If message comes & goes not- This does not mean that it's unnecessary. It is equally important one.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and comment on it. Appreciate it. The particular unit is an Endress Hauser flow transmitter. It is hardwired into an IM module and then comes back via profibus as far as I understand. I will check the transmitter itself and be sure to get back to you
