can I check when we are replacing the backup batteries for cpu 410-5H, will this stop the cpu from running during the process? I look through the installation manual and nothing is touch on this. Anyone can advise?

While replacing the batteries the controller will not go to stop mode.

please make sure that main supply should be available to controller while replacing the batteries.

In the absence of both (main power supply and backup battery) the program will get deleted from the controller.

from this discussion ,can i conclude that during power shutdown and if the four batteries are expired   the project program  will Erased from the CPU 410-5h?

 Hello weizhen86,

you have a 410-5H, if you are using PCS 7 V9.0 or higher, then the CPU 410-5H has a retentive load memory. That means, that the user program is retained in the CPU after an unbuffered Power Off.
