The Industrial Edge Platform is composed of three main components (see pic. 1).

(1) Industrial Edge Hub (IEH) operated by Siemens

(2) Industrial Edge Management (IEM) running in customer-selected environment (Link to IEM introduction topic)

(3) Industrial Edge Runtime on Industrial Edge Devices (IED)

Another important component is called Industrial Edge App Publisher (IEAP) (4). This is a tool used for app development and it provides a way to create and upload your own custom applications to Industrial Edge Platform (more information about IE Apps)

Industrial Edge Hub is a starting point for Industrial Edge. Here you can

1. Review all relevant documentations such as online user guide for Industrial Edge Management, IE Device and IE App Publisher
2. Browse Industrial Edge Applications already available for installing on your Industrial Edge Devices and get access to Industrial Edge Marketplace
3. Download the Industrial Edge Management Installation file,
4. Download development tools like Industrial Edge App Publisher
5. Download firmware updates for Industrial Edge Devices via API through the IEM
6. Overview licenses for the platform and for the Edge Apps

For example, as of 02/2023 the following Industrial Edge system applications are available in Industrial Edge Hub by default:

2. OPC UA Connector
3. Cloud Connector (MQTT)
4. Flow Creator Edge App
5. Azure Cloud Connector
