Using node-red and the modbus-nodes could be an option here. We had an example for the IOT2040 on here.

Notice, if you have an IOT2050 Basic Model, the Serial Interface should be ttyS2. If you have an IOT2050 advanced it should be named ttyUSB0.

Depending on which CloudProvider you are using you can most likely use a corresponding connector in node-red straight away!
