Rhopkin Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello This is my first post and am a Siemens newbie so please excuse the basic questions. I am working with a dual S7 system that has a basic PC based GUI for a ship. What I am tryting to do is find a way to see exactly all devices connected and running (sending data or voltage info) to the S7 as well as the multiple S300's we have onboard. System was part installed and not all devices are connected but due to the complexities and some drawings not being correct, we have no way of knowing what is or is not connected and if it is connected does the device/devices need calibrating (HVAC, Propulsion, Power Generation, Tankage, Sewage, Valve Controls, PT100 Temperature etc) I am used to working with Navigation systems which are traditionally RS232 or RS485 protocol for sending/receiving data to devices from a multi-network integrated PC work stations such as Radar, charts, multiple GPS and AIS systems etc. If anyone can point me in the correct direction, I would be very appreciative as I have something in the region of a few thousand devices to track down and check, it's a pretty big ship and not so sure where to start. Do you talk from a PC with the SoftPLC WinAC? It will help ust to help you, if you tell us which bus system (e.g. PROFIBUS or PROFINET) you have at the S7-PLC. And if you have STEP 7 V5.x or STEP 7 in TIA Portal (V11 or higher). Assuming you have If you use STEP 7 V5 (and not STEP 7 in TIA Portal) and PROFIBUS or PROFINET you may use this: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/98278878 In STEP 7 (any version) you can select "reachable notes/Accessible devices". This will list all stations on PROFIBUS or PROFINET that can be reached from the programming PC. If you use PROFINET you may use this: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/67460624and http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24000238

Rhopkin Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Miami Thanks a bunch for your reply. We have Step 7 V5.4 + SP4 and is connected via Ethernet to the main cabinet. I have managed in the past to reload the software onto the RAM modules in the S7’s after a power cut and the two AA batteries failed to keep power. Whole ship was running manually for ages when that happened….UPS almost repaired as we speak though! I ran Accessible Nodes and can see the nodes connected. Is there a way to also see all the various sensors attached so I can cross-reference with master list I have that includes addresses etc? Found SoftPLC but looks like a demo only version so no good. Also ran WinCC but got an error stating “No configuration file was specified on the command line or in the “HmiRTm.ini” file. Is any of the above useful? Am trying to find out if Profinet or Profibus (is there a way to find out?), nothing on the S7-400 PLC’s but I’ll keep looking around. Noticed the CPU's are labelled 417-4H. Sorry, our documentation is all over the place but thanks again for your help and let me know what more infrmation is needed for me to progress a bit further. Rob

Klick twice on Hardware. Now the HW Configuration should open.Here you can see what stations are programmmed (and if you have PROFIBUS and/or PROFINET, Due you have STEP7 V5.4 I expect you have PROFIBUS) I suggest you make a screen shot and post it here. Rhopkin Found SoftPLC but looks like a demo only version so no good. Maybe just installedfor testing, or to get drivers for a PROFIBUS card (e.g. CP5612) Do you have a "Component Configurator" running in the tray of your PC? But I have no Idee which file endings are used for WinCC. Rhopkin Is any of the above useful? Am trying to find out if Profinet or Profibus (is there a way to find out?) PROFIBUS = 9 pin Sub D connector ; PROFINET= RJ45 connector (like any Ethernet interface) Rhopkin Noticed the CPU's are labelled 417-4H. So you have a S7-400H System ("H" means redundant, you have 2 CPU 417H linked with a fiber optic cable)

Due you have contact to the S7-300s (HVAC FZx) it is not complete offline. Maybe he's just saying the OS4 is not online. I think OS1 to OS5 are PCs with WinCC running on it. I don't know why the are not shown in the SIMATIC Manager. Siemens has "WinCC flexible" and "WinCC " you should find out which one you have. (check in the control panel, which software is installed.) Then you may ask in the Visualisation Conference for furtherhelp. Looks like your SIMATIC Manager is a Multiproject loaded. The Project "EAS_Panel" is the EAS CPU in your MIMIC-Panel The Project "IMAC" holds thethree 315-2DP CPUs and the S7-400H. The S7-Program "AG_IAS_24_01_14" is a program folder that is actually not used. (Because it is locatednot under a CPU. You can rename "Quellen" to "Sources" and "Bausteine" to "Blocks" to have english names for this folders. When you mark a CPU and press <STRG><D> (for PLC>Diagnostics> Module Status (This names may be different, my STEP 7 is actually in german)) you can look into the diagnostic buffer, to see if the CPU is happy or somethink is not ok. As far as I know in the S7-400H you only program the first CPU, because the 2nd runs the same program.
