Hi If you have TP270 you can connect AS511. Read here:http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1405528 See chapter 2. About MP277, i think you will need WinCC Flex not Protool and. You are right that this panel didn't have RS232. But with converter converter 6AV6 671-8XE00-0AX0 (RS 422-RS 232). More about MP277 look here. regards |

Dear rabbit, Please have a look at this manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1405528 Chapter 3 will explain communication using AS511 protocol. Special function blocks for connection to the PLC are not required. The mentioned FB51 are for older panels. Best regards, Wizard |
