BW500 parameters

random-user Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, We have a MSI belt scale with 2 x 100lbs load cells, the speed sensor and the BW500 integrator. I'm able to figure out most of the parameters but I'm having trouble with P011 design rate and P014 design speed. Our belt is designed for 42tph and 1m/s but I dont know what the belt scale is designed for. Is this the value to enter in P011 and P014. Do they actually influence the calculation of the rate? I have the feeling that by changing P011 it changes the displayed value on the BW500. I have access to 4 x 18kg test weights, how many should I use for span calibration? I know my pulley diameter, idler spacing, approx belt length and speed sensor PPR and we also timed the belt for one full revolution. Thanks in advance for your help.

Levelmans Bronze Member Joined: 12/13/2012 Last visit: 10/5/2023 Posts: 124 Rating: (45)	Hello , I´ve made a small calculation for 42 t/h by a speed of 1 m/sec with100 lb loadcells. We will have a live load signal of 3mV and a total load signal of 10,7 mV here. Your scale is useable to handle 42 t/h. You only have to take care, that the idler spacing is 1.1 m for at min. 2 idlers before and after the scale. 42 t/h is also your reference for P011. The setting of P014 is 1m/sec. The setting of P015 is more relevant here. What kind of speedsensor are you using ? RBSS, TASS, WS300 ? For the RBSS you have to enter 150,4 and for for the TASS 9.94. If you are using a WS300, you have to take a look to the impulses at the tag plate. Most common are 256 ppr. This value is also the reference for the impulses of the calculation in P690. With one testweight, you will have a calibration point of around 60%. Therefore there should only one testweight be used for the span calibration. Hipe this helps ! For your case it should be 42 tph (if P005 = 1), Otherwise you should enter P011 in units selected in P005. P014 is the design speed. You should enter here the conveyor speed in the units selected in P0004. (i.e. if P004 =2, then the units is metetrs/sec.) To do so, You should have a tacho meter to measure the speed of the conveyor belt. For all other parameters and to help you to check number of calibrating weights, we will need some more details.
