Connect 2 MP377 to plc via profibus

john2014 Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	Hi, we have the same problem, could you please let us know how u fixed it? Actully we had two MP377 HMI working on Profibus, then 1 failed and we repalced with new MP377 HMI as we didn't had access to it's files we get backup from second one and restore to new HMI, now only one could work at same time, altough we changed the IP address, HMI name and ... Please send us any clue to fix the problem.

Please Check Profibus address in both MP377.

Please send us any clue to fix the problem. You have transferred image file of uploaded backup. So communication setting will be applied same in both HMI. That's why only one HMI can communicate at one time. To confirm this , Apply new communication setting , Reboot HMI & old setting will be applied to HMI.

Please send us any clue to fix the problem. Hello, In the first half of your post, you was talking about communicating two OPs on a Profibus network to one CPU. In second half, you told that you changed the IP address. We need to know exactly if you connected to your CPU via Profibus or Profinet networks? _____ You have two things to do to establish communication between two OPs and CPU at the same time: As per friends sugession, change Profibus address for one of the two OPs. Profibus addresses should not dublicated. I think you need to contact the programmer in order to get the configuration file and change the profibus address. All S7-300 allows more than One OP to be connected with. Exact maximum number of OPs depends on the CPU type. But the default setting (factory setting) is always One OP. So, you have to change this setting in HW config to two. Please have a look on the following FAQ which tells how many OPs that you can connect with which CPUs, and how to change this number of OPs. What is the maximum number of OPs that a CPU S7-300 can communicate with? Hope this helps.

john2014 Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	As I described before, we had two working HMI both MP377 on Profibus network, then one failed without having access to it program, so we order new MP377 HMI, then get a backup from the working one and restore to new one, after that we changed all setting like IP address, HMI name and but Profibus address we have no access to configuration file as the programming company no longer work in this field. I tried to change the profibus address in "S7 tranfer setting" but as one of our friend mentioned after restart all setting goes back to be same with other HMI. any clue where should we cahnge profibus address in HMI?

Hello, For Profibus settings, you can not change addresses in control panel. You should have the configuration file to do it. Now, do you want to operate both MP377 on the CPU at the same time? If you do not have the configuration file, you can work with Only OneMP377 and after fix or purshase another one, you may let it as a spare. Hope this helps.

Hello, For Profibus settings, you can not change addresses in control panel. You should have the configuration file to do it. Now, do you want to operate both MP377 on the CPU at the same time? If you do not have the configuration file, you can work with Only OneMP377 and after fix or purshase another one, you may let it as a spare. Hope this helps. Ayman is right, the only thing you can do is try to send the panel failure to an AuthorizedSiemens repair center near you and hope that they are able to resurrect it.
