I have seen plenty of documentation of how to get WinCC to synchronize a CPU 410 with integrated Ethernet interface by setting WinCC as Master, the CPU PNIO-X5 to Slave and the CPU itself as Master.  Documentation then says to set the CPU DP as master for Profibus, but I am not using Profibus.  I have ET200SP HA rails that use Profinet connected to the CPU PNIO-X8.

I thought I should configure the PNIO-X8 as Master and then the SP HA Rails as Slave, but there are no Master/Slave settings in the ET200SP HA IM's and I can't find documentation as to how to set this up.

The only thing I see in the PNIO of the SPHA IM is a checkbox to turn on PTCP Mode.  So should I turn on PTCP Mode of the PNIO-X8 of the CPU?

I thought I would post this question here because I'm probably not the only one looking for this.

I also had the same problem, and i contacted siemens regarding this. To use PTCP its important that the CPU must be the Time Sync master, and the same must be activated at the respective ET200 SP-HA cards. There is no special setting as PTCP master/slave.
