Not only the retentive range, none of the CPU property will upload while doing upload operation. ( retentive property, cpu clock, I/O modules will upload with default address(not with configured address) etc.) After that I have send support request. Then i got the reply like this. During upload STEP 7 uploads the hardware configuration from the CPU, including any modules (SM, SB, or CM). Please refer the same in the section 11.14 of manual :-http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/39710145 But still the problem is not rectified. One more thing, why should we copy paste the blocks?? Just click on newly created project's PROGRAM BLOCK option, then we can see the upload shortcut will be enabled. so that we can directly upload the blocks. (I think with tia v 10.5 that option is not available) Regards

Last project, i configured IO card address with 3( default address while doing hardware config was 8, i modified it to 3 and downloaded, was working fine.) Later I uploaded the project, uploaded the hardware using detect hardware method. After uploading, its found that IO card was showing the address as 8, cpu clock is not enabled(it was configured b4 downloading), retentive range is missing etc. Is it because of any wrong method of upload?? Regards

m_turk Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	I can confirm that this is "normal"TIA bahaviour.. At least for now. My trick is to keep default settings where I can, plus always use the same settings on the parameters that I have to change from default. But I hope this will be fixed..

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 15385 Rating: (2443)	I have not tested this (yet), but if we have a blank siemens memory card, insert it into a running plc, is it true that the plc then copies the program onto the memory card and from there, you have a backup? Sure, the plc now has no program and is in stop mode, but you can put the memory card into your computer files then restore the plc program from that same memory card. What is lost in that process? Just the current tag values and system state, correct? And you lose comments too.

But in 1200, there is 1 very good feature that, while uploading comments also get uploaded. Because there is no symbol table, all naming are done in plc tag list itself. regards
