Hello rajkiran; As far as basic instrumentation is concerned, there are may available documents for training purpioses, such as this webpage: http://www.pacontrol.com/Instrument.html Whatever purpose your instrumentation is going to be used for you need to understand the requirements for any system before you start sel;ecting and integrating instruments. You need to understand the forces your transducers will be measuring in the process, the signals you can read directlyin the PLC, the transmitters that will make the signals in the range of dstandard PLC modules, and the different ways they can be connected. You also need to know how and instrument is selected, and how to configure the different connections to the proces (flanges, weldolets, thermowells, isolation valves...). As far as working with instruments in PCS 7, there are a few choices to consider: -PCS 7 has entry blocks for analog measurements (MeasMon) that you8 can use to connect and manipilate the 4-20mA/0-10 V signals that your tranmitters will send fromm the field; -You can use Profibus-PA (with PDM software) to connect an instrument bus to the PLC; -You can use HART-enabled instruments (again with PDM and HART-IO modules) to connect your instruments point-to-point to HART analog input modules. SIMATIC Process Control System PCS 7 SIMATIC PDM How do you configure a PROFIBUS PA network in STEP 7? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
