I have an application of level sensing, but the problem is sensing liquid is 1400 degrees Celsius. Can any one can give me suggestion to sense the level of this liquid. I have tried with several sensors including laser sensors but I could not manage to take a reading of this hot liquid.

If that sensor is siemens it will fine, but it is OK with third party sensor. I just want to do my application.

Any suggestions wil be highly appreciated.

1. Measuring of hot steel level in mould (part of continious casting mashine). It's done by one radioactive elements putting on the front and one scintilation counter on the other side. Otput from counter is 4-20mA proporional to the level. This counter in our case was Berthold ( there you can see more info ) . This way has one disadvantage: Radioactive emission (this is bigest problem) + maintanence of radioactive element;

Thank you very much for your quick reply. Yes I’m measuring liquid form steel. In my case there are silicon (sand) molds once you use the mold then they break the mold to take the product out.
