Hello zoom; I doubt that this Siwarex MMC can be used for a S7-300 CPU. It is a 32 MB micro memory card, as you can see in this Product Support info:
And the largest supported S7-300 MMC is only 4MB.

little correction: the largest S7-300MMC is 8MB: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/82098000 and if you refer the Siwarex FTA Device Manual you can read that the Memory Card is formated in the FTA and can't no longer used in a S7-300 PLC. So the Format of the SIWAREX MMC is not compatible with a S7-300 and the card can't be used ! |

Hello zoom; Depending on how old your CPU 315 is (the older ones have a battery connection in the front of the CPU and integrated RAM for the Load memory area), the newer CPUs meed a MMC as Load memory and cannot operate without it. See the definition of Load memory in the following FAQ: How can you obtain an overview of the memory concept of SIMATIC S7-300 CPUs and C7 devices? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/7302326 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
