TP177B Mono DP Version Upgrade Problem

dgfoxjones Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	HI ALL Just upgraded the device version on TP177B Mono DP up to version 1.1.3.0 as wincc project was upgraded to wincc 2008 from 2005 on my laptop. The screen sits on a profibus network with a transmissioin rate of3Mbps. I connected to the network on a nearby remote IO which, is on the same profibus network, via my CP5512 connection. Connected no problem and was able to upgrade the device version. When the upgrade finished I reset the HMI device comms settings, address,HSA, etc. Tried to down load project into HMI but would not connect . Checked connection cable using PG/PC settings in step7 management and diagnostics showed connection ok, showing all other stations also on the network, even the HMI I needed to connect to. Tried connecting directly to the HMI still no good. Then used an MPI connection cable. Set MPI setting on screen and connected ok. Problem over. NO !!! Made alteration to project and tried downloading to screen but would not reconnect ? MPI or CP5512 connections. WHY ??????????? Thought it was maybe due to the screen but I had exactly the same problem withthe samescreen but on another line a few months ago, exactly the same settings. We also have another profibus network on the system which is running at 500Kps. I have recently updated all HMI's, same model screens, with no connection problems at all. Is my problem down to the transmission rate ? Any one with any ideas ........ Sorry its a bit long winded but making sure you have all the details to go on.

Here you can download Service pack 2: Service Pack 2 for WinCC flexible 2008 And latest Update: Update for WinCC flexible 2008 Service Pack 2 Or try to perform an OS update with the option "Reset to factory settings" how do you do an operating system update (OS update on operator panels? The baudrate is not the problem. (You can use 12 Mbit/s) (but perhaps the cable connections, lengths etc.) Best regards, Wizard

dgfoxjones Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hi Wizard Currently using 2008 SP2. Not sure what update so downloading latest at mo. Length of cable is +2m. Obviously the screen for some reason doesn't like the update but why, when I updated 3 others of the same model on another network using the same kit, CP5512? Only difference being is the transmission rate ? Will try reconnecting when updates installed using both connection methods.
