TP700 Comfort Recipes not saving/Loading

aamirawan91 Regular Member Joined: 3/6/2022 Last visit: 10/23/2024 Posts: 107 Rating: (2)	We have a machine that is running on an S7-1200 PLC and a TP700 Comfort Panel HMI. The programmer provided options in the HMI to create different recipes according to the operation's requirements. Recipe values can be entered, saved, and loaded as needed. The other day, the PLC malfunctioned, and we replaced it with a new one. Unfortunately, we don't have the original editable version of the program, but we do have a backup that can only be transferred using the "Automation tool." After restoring the PLC program, everything works fine except for the issue with saving recipes in the HMI. I'm not sure if re-downloading the PLC program has any connection to this problem. The HMI has an SD card inserted in the "data" slot, while the "System" slot is empty without any SD card. I believe the recipes are also saved on the SD card. The card is in good condition and is recognized in the commissioning>backup/restore option in the HMI control panel. This suggests that the HMI is aware of the card's presence. However, when we attempt to save a recipe, it displays an error message saying "function cannot be completed," which seems to be a user-generated error. What could be causing this issue?

I would recommend you reset it, always making a backup before what is inside 3- Have you tried to create new recipes and export them to an SD card? I attach information: Configuring Recipes Exporting and importing recipe data

I attach information: Configuring Recipes Exporting and importing recipe data So, I changed the SD card and recipes started saving and reading (loading). I did that just to check and it worked. I can't keep using the newly inserted SD card since it belongs to a different machine. I don't know why this recipe issue is occurring when i use that other sd card despite the fact that card is working fine, showing up in the HMI "backup/commissioning" option. I even backed up and restored using that same sd card then why its having problem with recipes. Is it really an sd card issue?

The SD card that worked fine is not siemens either. Even the SD cards that originally came installed in the HMI with the machine were not Siemens. The Siemens manual says that you don't need to use a siemens SD card for the "data" slot. Although it's complusary to use a siemens SD card for the "System" slot. We are not using the system slot anyway.

SIemens always do guarantee only the usage of the own released SD Cards and external storage devices. What happens if you use a fresh empty SD Card does this work? check also if the write protect switch is disabled on the not working card (often this little hw switch has to be moved a few times...) Also check if there is a newer Update or Image Version available for your TIA Version. Bye Murof
