If the used CPU is 414H, so it shall have one MPI/DP port through which you can upload and download the program using PC Adapter

 Please give us complete part number. 

For CPU 414-4H or 414-5H, it have one port configured MPI or Profibus. Another port for Profibus. And you can use any of them even if used with ET200 profibus remote IOs. But you should use bus connector with PGSOCKET. 

For CPU 41x-5H, you can use ethernet ports for download.

You can use MPI adapter to download PLC. MPI port is always there in S7 400 CPU. You do not need CP for this. If this is a PN CPU you can also use ethernet cable to upload / download PLC.

If you are using siemens PG as you mentioned you do not have to get any CPmodule there is a built-in profibus port. you do not have to get any other modules.
