Hi, I have a H station with 416-H CPU. I tried to download the program from CPU to PC with network RJ45 communication, I followed the procedure but the CPUs do not appear in PC . it is necessary to synchronize the baudrate speed ? Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello Milo; What procedure did you follow exactly? By the way, form CPU to PC is called uploading, from programming PC to CPU is called downloading; using the "correct" term will make understanding easier with the rest of the forum members. What communication interface are you using, and how has it been setup in the programming PC? The main programming interface for a S7-400 PLC is based on RS 485, but it supports a protocol called MPI. This requires an adapter for communication, either a PC adapter USB A2 or a CP 5711, that is set for a speed of 187,5 kB. These adapters can be also used with the Profibus DP port integrated in the CPU, at speeds up to 12 MB. Or you could use the Profinet port of the CPU to connect using your PC Ethernet processors. In all cases, the selection of the communication interface to the PLC must be made in the programming PC using the PG/PC Interface. You will see details to establish connections to a CPU using the PC Adapter USB A2 in the following document: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/68849363 The administartors of the PLCDev forum have issued this document for non-Siemens users showing the basic steps for downloading and uploading on S7-300/400 CPUs, it should give you great hints: http://www.plcdev.com/book/export/html/597 Hope this helps, |

Hello Milo; See if the information in this FAQ can help you out: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/22585648 If you cannot find the present IP address of the CPU you can always attribute it a new., temporary one... and proceed with your upload. Hope this helps, |
