To start off and so I don´t forget, I am using TIA Portal V19 Upd. 2 and the current project is a unified comfort panel MTP1200

I have a question/problem concerning dynamic SVGs. I have been playing around with dynamic SVGs and creating my own to integrate into future projects and added them into "Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\SvgControls". All was going great until I archived the project and passed it along to a college. All the dynamic SVGs were missing for him when he opened the project.

After some searching I found out I was doing it wrong and the correct way is to create a folder in the project itself under <project_folder>/UserFiles/SVGControls (Link). 

The problem I am having is that this folder is not appearing in the Dynamic widgets drop down list.

I have all the requirements for it to work but it doesn't.

Requirement

• A project has been created.
• A Unified device has been created.
• A screen is open

When I open the demo project from Siemens "Feature demo + TechShowCase demo".

They have some custom dynamic SVGs in the demo located in <project_folder>/UserFiles/SVGControls and it shows up in the dynamic widgets list as Project Graphics

So the big question is what am I doing wrong for it not to work on my project? Has anyone encountered this problem? or any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

Yes I have tried the refresh button but the project folder does not show up and on the Info->General no errors shows up just the message "All controls are up to date."

I know it is not the dynamic SVGs because they are working when inserted in the TIA Portal Library folder. I have also tried copying the folder with the dynamic SVGs from the demo project and still nothing.

I have also tried closing and opening the project after inserting the folder in the project directory and also archiving and then opening and still the folder does not show up on the Dynamic Widgets menu. I really can´t see what could be wrong. 

<project_folder>/UserFiles/SVGControls ：SVGControls must is SvgControls. 

folder names are case sensitive

I tested again and copied the SVG file integrated with the tia portal software separately.

It should be noted that the extension of the SVG file cannot be the same as the existing SVG file extension.

And the name of the SVG file cannot be the same as the existing SVG file.

This way, after brushing the line, it can be displayed and used.

@Stefan That is what I am doing at the moment as a walk around so I can pass the project along to my colleges but when the dynamic SVGs are in a folder it is a lot easier to modify later on if needed.

@AutoGen I was first trying with "SVGControls" as stated in the help document from Siemens but once I saw that the Demo project had the folder named "SvgControls", I changed it to that but both ways didn't work. But I think you are right the correct way to name the folder seems to be "SvgControls" and not "SVGControls".

I will open up a ticket with Siemens support see if they can help me find the cause of this problem. I will update this post when I solve the problem with Siemens support to help out anyone that runs into this problem.

I know two reasons why it could be.
1. This folder does not appear if it is empty.
2. And the second possible reason is if you have not deleted your widgets from

"Programme Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\SvgControls" folder.
And If you add them to the SvgControls project folder, they will conflict with each other because they have the same names and will not be displayed both.

This seems to be the problem. I don´t really know why because the dynamic SVGs that I added to the project folder were different and had different names. In the TIA Portal there is the standard folder from Siemens "IndustryGraphicLibrary" and I had added a new folder "CustomLibrary" with some test dynamic SVGs (different SVGs and different names). Once I completely removed the folder CustomLibrary, Project Graphics showed up!! I guess something in the folder was conflicting with the Project graphics.

If you mean that these files have different names, that's not enough. TIA Portal compares them by

<hmi:self displayName=‘Heater-01’ name=‘extended.Heater-01’ performanceClass=‘L’ type=‘widget’ version=‘1.0.1’>

 this line in the file itself.

The displayName and name attributes should have unique widget names throughout the system. Both in the project folder and in the Siemens library folder.

Yes I was referring to the file name as well as the name inside the file (displayName and Name) but I guess I must have missed one . I will have to check one by one. But glad that the cause was found.
