Mo.Sa Silver Member Joined: 8/1/2012 Last visit: 9/2/2024 Posts: 179 Rating: (15)	Hello I can't read DB in OPC Scout, in fact when I double-click DB (under my connection/objects folder) it dosen'tgive meany in particular option to add theDB items I don't have problem with other objects like I,Q,M,etc the attachment includes captures from OPC Scout and TIA my softwares: TIA V12with S7-1200 controller OPC Scout V10 with regards Mojtaba Sahraean Attachment Desktop.zip (671 Downloads)

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, other reason could be also that the S7-connection isn't established. After creating the connection you must download the PLC also to activate the connection in PLC. If you don't download the connection the PLC will discard the connection establishment from PC. Your other Items should also not work. You can add it, but you will not get any values. Right?If the DB access is wrong (DB cannot be optimized) then other tags must work.

Mo.Sa Silver Member Joined: 8/1/2012 Last visit: 9/2/2024 Posts: 179 Rating: (15)	rusli_rusli hii try this : /tf/WW/en/Posts/39646 br rusli Thank you for the link ,I searched but I didn't find this golden Tip ,this solved my problem So the procedure would be: -the DB must NOT be optimized . -define the DBvariable manuallyin DA view(in OPC Scout window) like these: S7:[S7_Connection_1]DB2, X0.0 S7:[S7_Connection_1]DB2, D0----- But herethere is anotherissue , I defined a variable in DB as a "REAL " type , 4.897 iswrittenin "start value ", I defined it in OPC Scout S7:[S7_Connection_1]DB2, D0 but in DA view (monitoring on) shows itin " uint " type (16540) the question is how I should define a "real "variable in DA view? I want it shows 4.895 insted of 16540 with regards mojtaba sahraean

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, the Syntax for Real is as following: S7:[....]DB10,REAL10,5 --> 5 reals starting at BYTE 10 in DB10. This item will read 20 Bytes.
