Hi, what do you mean? from the manual: The CPU 1512SP-1 PN has a PROFINET interface (X1) with an integrated 3-port switch. Port 1 and port 2 are located on the pluggable BusAdapter. Port 3 is integrated in the housing of the CPU. Also there is one note which says: The BusAdapter BA 2xRJ45 (6ES7193-6AR00-0AA) or BusAdapter BA 2xFC
(6ES7193-6AF00-0AA0) is required for standard-compliant operation of the CPU
1512SP-1 PN (6ES7512-1DK00-0AB0) as PROFINET IO controller and PROFINET IO device. my current problem is that the cpu goes to stop from time to time and when I check the diagnostic buffer it said that there is configuration difference between the offline/online of the cpu. without giving more details. The only actual difference is that I dont have bus adapter. so I dont know if the bus adapter is the cause of cpu goes to stop mode. T_Ebrahem |

There are 2 things you can do once you review the details presented by each device in the online diagnostics. If the PLC is not happy about the non-existent module, contact Siemens Support (create Support Request) and send them an archive of our project. Ask them to explain what you need to do to run without the bus adapter since your project does not require a PN IO controller. I am not a real expert on this subject, but there may a "null adapter" which could be installed to satisfy the PLC that there is intentionally no bus adapter rather than missing. All that said, in the meantime while you search for the root cause of the problem, here are 2 things: 1. Configure the PLC so it will accept hardware that is close enough but actual part # is allowed to be slightly different than exact part #. 2. Configure various interrupt OBs that may be get called due to the missing bus adapter. OB80, Diagnostics Error OB is a great start. You can check the hardware ID and whether the error just happened or just cleared using the OB interface parameters. If the HW_ID is not for the bus adapter, you might decide to issue a PLC stop, or you may issue a fault that shuts everything down quickly before something bad happens (depending on what hardware fails and when it fails).
