Dear friends,

I just finished the sample project to demo for the redundant CPU S7-1500R, and i want to share some notes you need (very basic) as:

1. Creat new project and add new CPU S7-1500, at here i use CPU 1513R-1 PN

2. Add new ET 200SP, SCALANCE XC208 and TP 700 Comfort

* Port 2 of CPU primary connect to Port 2 of CPU Standby

* Port 1 CPU primary connect to ET 200SP, ET 200SP connect to port 1 of SCALANCE XC208

* Port 2 of SCALANCE XC208 connect to Port 1 of CPU Standby

To make Ring topology (Media redundancy) for Profinet 

* Port 8 of SCALANCE XC208 connect to HMI Comfort panel

3. Enable system IP address for switched communication

a. Open Device configuration --> CPU 1513R-1 PN

b. Choice Ethernet addresses --> System IP address for switched communication --> Enable (choice stick) and put IP address for System IP.

c. You can use system IP address to communication with other devices through Profinet (HMI, PLC, TCP/IP...)

3. Please choice Multi assigned for ET 200SP and SCALANCE XC208

4. Choice Ethernet port (RJ45) --> Advanced options --> Media redundancy:

a. CPU: role manage (auto)

b. ET 200SP: role client

c. SCALANCE XC208: role client

5. Programming PLC as standard PLC and download to all CPU (Primary and standby)

6. My sample project using in TIA Portal V16

Thank you very much for your valuable input to the Siemens forum, i have configured exactly what you have mentioned but i am facing a problem while testing the R(Soft )  Redundancy when i am powering OFF to Primary PLC, Backup PLC does not become Primary PLC and goes is Stop Mode.

But the same thing tested with only putting Primary PLC in stop mode with the on-built switch on PLC, Backup PLC is properly becoming Primary PLC and holding the output as it should run for the Redundancy.

Kindly suggest how to get this Power recycle testing for redundancy Correct this is the requirement from the Customer.
