BF means Bus Fault, and means that the slave is not available to the master on the network. Either it is not addressed properly, or the configuration does not match the encountered actual slave.

SF is a System fault: it appears for example when in your program you attempt to read unconfigured data registers or addresses.

The best way to know what troubles the CPU is to open the Diagnostic buffer, use the SAVE AS button (available on the diagnostic buffer page) to log all the diagnostic messages to a text file (to be opened with Notepad) and attach them here so we can read them and help you discover the source of the fault.

So i got a packaging machine with  Pac Drive C400 like a CPU and 4 ET200S IM151-1 like slaves. I juste have a diagnostic software for my CPU and it said that the Master cant communicate with my first Slave. The 3 others slaves are working properly.

I got this problem when i replace the Profibus Module witch was damage,

I got the same module reference, same adresse, Not short circuit on the profibus, termination module is placed,

you can look at this manual , there is a description of the LED's.

There are some errors which are only quit with switch OFF/ON of the IM.

One thought: The terminating resistor must be ON only for the 2 end nodes of the network. Tell me, is the Profibus connector of this slave linked to a single Profibus cable (in that case it is an end node; terminating resistor must be ON) or 2 cables, In and Out ?  In that case is is not an end node and the terminating resistor should be OFF.

Of that does not help, please give us details on what yet more address should be for this slave, and how you entered it.

Hi Caod,

My ET200S is my first slave on the Network, Normaly the switch must be on OFF position. I do ON and OFF switch, nothing.

I am that modules are OK but their socket, I am not sure.

How I can test them ?

The terminating resistor is on OFF position because  my ET200S is not at end nodes of the network. 

My profibus adress is 3 and i put the switch 1 and 2 on ON position.

I think that issue can be around my modules sockets. How can i verify ?

If by "socket" you refer to the Profibus connector between the Profibus cable and the slave (or master) node, I think the contents of this discussion should interest you:

Hi all,

Cant you help about the meanings of this blinking ?

My ET200S IM 151  is blinking like this:

1. SF and BF togheter blinking FAST 3 times

2. SF blinks 1 times

3.BF blinks 2 times

4. SF and BF togheter blinking SLOW 3 times

5. BF blinks 3 times

I try to send the video but the load doesn't completed.

pls draw some jpg file with your network schema, pay attention to clearly draw devices positions as are as real. You can include also addresses defined on each device and also where are terminators ON/OFF.
