@ Set Team: Is SET using the sil values or pfd and pfh behind those cards etc... ? Cause what we don't know is how the sil level has being calculated for those components , in which kind of loop... which could be different for several installations... Isn't it so that you need to count up the pfd or pfh (depending if it's process or machine automation) and take the MTTF into account of those modules ? and also the testing periode ? Just asking how to work with this tool... PFDavg en PFH + see attachment please Thnks in advance, |

Hello Eyup; I believe that all Safety calculation must be based on equations provided in IEC 61508 standards. Here is a document that shows basic calculations of PFD and PFH values based on IEC 61508: See if this clarifies your original query. The following Application Example shows how Siemens uses the calculated values based on IEC 61508 tp establish SIL levels in a specific project: Safety: Practical Application of IEC 62061 Illustrated Using an Application Example with SIMATIC S7 Distributed Safety https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/23996473
Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

New question published by AutoGen_6893182 is split to a separate thread with the subject what proof test intervals are associated to each claimed pfd.. Best regards |
