Siwarex M Unit Activation

I just replaced the defective siwarex M with a new unit. After installation, I could not get any readings ( weigth ) on the HMI. The front panel LED of the siwarex is on for standstill and 1/4d zero, and ADJ. led is off Reading on the manual, it says that I have to activate first the communication and adjust the unit before I could get a reading. I do not have a siwatool software as of the moment. Any other way to activate the unit without using siwatool? Please bear with my questions, I'm stilllearning the siwarex system. Appreciate your comments and feedback. Regards, Abigail

LED = off), the measured value is still “frozen” (i.e., it does not change when the scales are loaded). There are two ways to parameterize the SIWAREX M. – Via the PC parameterization software SIWATOOL – Via the SIMATIC S7 (entry of the scales parameters in the DB-SIWAREX). For the Siwarex M module the Siwatool software is freeware. You can find the Siwatool software on the internet: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/10429779 Into the manual of the Siwarex M module you can find into the chapter 2.2.6 the cable description how to connect a PC with the Siwarex M module. Or you can order that cable from Siemens. The order number is: 7MH4702-8CA. You can find the manual with the cable description on the internet: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/7787784 If you installed the Siwatool software on your PC and you have the cable give me a reply so that I can help you with the adjustment of the scale. Connect the Siwatool-cable between your PC and the Siwarex M module 2. Start the Siwatool-software 3. Choose “File / New” into the Siwatool-software 4. Push the button “OK” 5. Choose “Communication / Activate communication” into the Siwatool-software. 6. Push the button “No” 7. Choose “Parameter / Adjustment data” into the Siwatool-software. 8. Push the button “Yes” 9. Control the parameter "Char. value SIWAREX M" with your load cells. 10. Define the "Adjustment weight": The adjustment weight must be at least 5 % of the total nominal load of all load cells. For example: In a scale there are 3 load cells with a nominal load of 100kg Minimum adjustment weight = 3 x 100kg x 5% = 15kg 11. Define the "Maximum load" (= maximum of material which you want to weight on the scale) 12. Push the button "Send" 13. Be sure, that the scale is empty (e.g. an empty bin) and push the button "Zero point valid" 14. Push the button “OK” 15. Put the adjustment weight to the scale and push the button "Adj. weight valid" 16. Push the button “OK” The adjustment of the Siwarex M module is now finished. Best regards Siwarexi
