s71200 memory card issue

boopathi@sequent Posts: 79 Rating: (0)	Dear All, i am using s71200 cpu with memory card. whenever i swithced off cpu power and removing memory card and inserting again memeory card again in same cpu after power on cpu goes to stop mode.why? i need cpu run mode.how to do?

If you insert a memory card (whether configured as a program or transfer card) into a running CPU, the CPU goes immediately to STOP mode. Control devices can fail in an unsafe condition, resulting in unexpected operation of controlled equipment. Such unexpected operations could result in death or serious injury to personnel, and/or damage to equipment. Always install an emergency stop circuit for your application or process. The evaluation of the memory card does not start until you change the CPU to RUN mode, reset the CPU memory with an MRES, or power-cycle the CPU in your case. Another case is if you use MMC like "program card" - Inserting a program card in the CPU erases all of the CPU internal load memor. Because the internal load memory of the CPU was erased when you inserted the program card, the program card must remain in the CPU. If you remove the program card, the CPU goes to STOP mode. (The error LED flashes to indicate that program card has been removed.) Best regards, HristoMihalev

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (120)	In the CPU, Start Up properties you can set how the CPU will react to a a power cycle. It can be Stop Mode which is the default. It can be Run Mode or it can be Mode before Power Off. If a laptop is not present, it is possible to set the reaction to RUN Mode. Inserting the memory card would force a stop and a power cycle could restore it to Run Mode. !!!!Safeguards should be implemented to preventdangerous machine operation on a Power Cycle if this option is chosen!!!!!! Error is "access to memory card denied" and "no memory card inserted or no external power supply available".
