Difference between online simulation and offline simulation (regular)

AutoGen_7016703 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, I use a Logo! 6ED1052 1FB08 0B1A I have made a customized bloc UDF that contains 2 and blocks in order to get a 7 entries AND function. The problem is that i get 2 different results during the simulation depending if I use a online simulation or the régular simulation (offline). In online simulation non connected inputs are not considered In offline simulation non connected inputs are considered as 0 Some one know why the offline simulation is not reliable ? Thanks I recreated your UDF in 2 different versions. Once with the hardware 0BA8.Standard (U001 in the screenshot) and once with the hardware LOGO!8.3 (U002 in the screenshot). Your problem with the offline simulation does not occur with both UDFs. If only 6 of the 7 inputs of the UDFs, the UDF outputs do not switch in the offline simulation. Then I made the same with the Online-Test and then occurs the problem, the output switches on. And I you connect the unused input I7 of the UDF with a LOW-block, then doesn't switch the outputs. Only Siemens can answer why this is the case. Siemens created both the LSC software and the firmware for the LOGO!s. We users can't tell you.

To do this, they are connected to a module or, if not in use, set to Hi or Lo. Ella_68 Ella_68 posted the correct answer. All inputs of a UDF has to be used in the main program. Else you use random values for the unused inputs. The result for random values may be different in different versions and depended if you use simulator or LOGO! (online test). Hint: The solution in the special application shown in the picture, is you connect in the main program “High” at all inputs you don’t need at this place.

Support Hint: The solution in the special application shown in the picture, is you connect in the main program “High” at all inputs you don’t need at this place. Then is it a bug in the firmware. It's the same problem with blocks when the output isn't closed. Then the program runs in simulation, but you can't transfer the program to the LOGO!.

The error with the outputs is not in the firmware software, but rather in a somewhat careless implementation of the simulation. Every PLC program, regardless of the language, must be self-contained (just think of how careful you have to be with AWL). However, an advantage can be that you can concentrate on the program first and then set all the closures and finally check everything again using the info window -> F2. Or what you mean with company's software?
