Still it pays the bills I suppose. I would just like to be challenged a bit more technically. smiffy, create challenges for yourself and the end-users you most often support. A few of our regional applications engineers take it upon themselves to write FBs and entire packages to make something work that sounds easy but nobody else has yet figured out how to do. They 'design' and code up FBs to make it dirt simple for us to communicate in ways that would otherwise be very difficult. Sure, theircustom functionblocks are not without the occassional problem because of undocumented built-in function block behavior. It might not be challenging, but it would be highly rewarding to hear the accolades us end users like to give . Just a random thought. I really like my job

I already try to contact the siemens - developers but they dont give me an answer. So I like a FC that convert the data of FB126 DB (that do not have any documentation) into the old diagnostic - DB arrays of FC125, that was used for DP Diagnostic. Depending form ammount of devices. That will help to use old diagnostic screens also with PN - networks. At the moment, I am busy with some projects, but if you are bored, just do a function and give it to the forum! I would need 1 day, you may do it in a half....

Here you find the old but nice FC125: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/6095050 here you find the new but ugly FB126: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26996747 Target is, to call FB126 for PN/DP diagnostic and the sort the diagnostic information into the fields of same structure like FC125 has done. Please see attachement. It is not a big problem, but you will have a look to both FC125/FB126 first to find out that the structure is very different. Service engineers with problems all over the world. I am now going back to school, to get my MSc, and after that, it is maybe time for a new function

Nice guys always get kicked in the a.... So learn to be a "bad guy"
