Hello bk; From an application manual for the Simoreg DC 6RA70: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/9466880 3.1.3 Serial interfaces The basic SIMOREG unit has two serial interfaces. A third serial interface is located on terminal extension CUD2. Connector X300 is located on the operator panel of the device either with an RS232 or RS485 interface for the USS protocol. The RS232 interface provides a point-to-point link for connection to a PC. Menu-guided start-up with SIMOVIS is usually performed through this interface. The RS485 interface is suitable for the bus-capable connection of the device to the automation or a PC (converter required on the PC side) or for connection an OP1S. Maximum baudrates: 19.2 kBd or RS232 and 187.5 kBd for RS485. One RS485 interface (four-wire or two-wire) is provided on each interface CUD1 and CUD2. These can be used for the USS or peer-to-peer protocol. |

Hi again, the informations gived was very interesting and helpfull, and now i can give more details : - i've configured the G-SST2 to use USS Protocol, - i've configured the port 0 of my CPU224XP to use USS Protocol (SMB30 = 49H) - i've assigned the address 2 to my Simoreg (6RA70) in G-SST2 parameters after all this, in G-SST2 Diagnosis (in DriveMonitor) i've obtained only a lot of "errored telegram", "framing errors" and "bad STX". the number of the first two is aproximately the same and sometimes is less than the third one sometimes greater. the example i'm using is one provided in this document that i've find (configured to use the part in relation with the 6RA24) : so now : 1) why i'm getting only errored telegram and bad STX and never error-free telegram. i know that STX=02H. 2) if the exemple i'm using has somme errors, can someone give me an exemple program so that i can read/write data with the cpu224XP from/in that Drive. thanks again.
