Hi! 

I've been looking at multiple options in regards to connecting a ET200SP CPU with a Schneider Electric M580 via ProfiNET. As far as I can tell it is perfectly possible.

But there is an extra level of complexity. 
I need to connect an absolute encoder (Allen Bradley 842E-CM-MIP3BA A)  to the ET200SP via Ethernet/IP as this is the protocol it uses.
Is it possible to connect a ET200SP CPU (for example: 6ES7 510-1SJ01-0AB0 -> in stock and no futher expense needed) to a Interface Module (6ES7155-6MU00-0CN0). So that the IM can communicate with the encoder and then back to the ET200SP CPU. Which then goes from the ET200SP CPU to the Schneider Electric M580 via ProfiNET? Goal is to read positions on the Schneider PLC via a remote ET200SP CPU.

You might be interested in the IM 155-6MF HF multi-fieldbus interface module, that allows an ET 200SP system to exchange data over Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Mpdbus TCP. You could use it to interface with your A-B encoder.

 Hi! thank you for your help. Do i need a ET200SP CPU to go between the IM and the Schneider or can the IM directly interface with the Schneider without a Siemens CPU?

If you open the video file in the following document, it will show you how the IM 155-6 MF is configured (to add I/O modules of the ET 200SP line), parametrized to act as a Ethernet/IP module, and the EDS file generated so it can work with an Ethernet/IP scanner.
