Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	singhrawat I have 8 nos of Simovert master drives with aluminium rolling mill, which all are communicated with S7 400 Plc via profibus connection, daily many times we are facing problem of F082 fault during run or even idle condition also and machine trip and all drive show F082.Andthe PLC go into STOP mode, it is a 3 years old machine, not new installation. we are facing its since last 3 weeks. There are 2 option of running machine, first option we are running out of 20 drives maximum 14 nos of motors and it is running well, in other option we are running all drives at a time. We face problem in other option when we are running all drives. If the communication board is all right, the problem comes from outside the drive! - Check the connection to CB also inside the plugs (broken wires, correct shielding...). - Check the whole profibus cabling and the potential equalisation of the Profibus slaves to the Master. - Check the diagnosis memory of the Simatic - Check P722 (CB TlgOFF) - Replace CB, if it is always at the same drive - check whether what kinds of action had to be done since the phenomenom occured (maintenace, changes in the plc program ... ) Refer to the section 8.2 Profibus in the Masterdrives compendium MC: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/23660019 VC: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/13472409

Keyur_M Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Hi, This fault arrives when drive will not get data over profibus telegram within predefine time in P722 (ms). 1. You mentioned that PLC going in STOP mode. This should not happen due to drive. Mostly there may be problem in your PLC, which causing it to go in STOP mode and because of which drives are not getting data over profibus and getting tripped in F082. 2. You metioned you get this problem when you are running all drives, means there can also be chances of poor shiedling of profibus. Drive power cable contains lots of EM energy so profibus should be well seperated from Drive power cable and should be properly shieled. 3. PLC should not go in stop mode just like that first check that and also If you are not transmitting any relevent or critical data to drive from you PLC, you can make P722=0 (which will disable telegram monitoring). and also disable F082 fault. otherwise increase value in the same parameter. Vithani Platinum Expert Joined: 7/8/2009 Last visit: 6/7/2025 Posts: 1977 Rating: (479)	I think lost of communication of drives with PLC may cause PLC to go in STOP. for that, OB is to be downloaded in PLC so that Hardware fault can not make PLC to go in STOP ( i guess its OB82 but not sure) You must check diagnoses buffer to know exact reason of PLC to go in Stop mode And regarding drive, if problem is not from PLC side, you must check every thing, cable, profibus connector, end terminator, connection in Profibus connector Best thing is to use Profibus tester - isolate complete network then connect one by one and check with Profibus tester This communication problem can be anything. I had few experience - in one, i needed to change one Profibus cable between two drives, in one case one CPU was not properly fixed in Rack and that made communication lost - so lot of work to do If possible, try replacing profibus cable Regards, Devesh Vithani
