Unfortunately in the WinCC for PCS 7 there is no search option for block icons. The blockicon is generated from all @PCS7Typicals*.pdl-files in the project folder. During "generate/update block icons" the system search @PCS7Typicals*.pdl's in reverse alphabetical order and uses the first block icon where the blockname is matching with the attribute "Type" that is found.

If you open the @PCS7Typicals*.pdl-files you can use the list functionality of the *.pdl in the upper right corner. There you can find all objects that are placed in the *.pdl-file sorted after the name.

If follow standard pcs 7 methods (Auto generate block icon from CFC block) , you should be able to find it via

1. CFC Editor -> Chart Reference Data -> Look for the blocks

2. Or, Open Process Object View 0 -> Sort for block type OpDi01 -> Look for the block icon number, locate the hierarchy folder, you will know the picture name when you check at OS project . 

I tried browsing through the @PCS7Typicals files, but the block variant isn't in any of them. I only have OpDi01_01 to OpDi01_04, yet block icon 100 is used so there should be a OpDi01_100. We didn't program it ourselves, could it be that the company that programmed it copy-pasted this block icon from another project but never provided us the updated library?

I used the chart reference data and the process object view methods, but all I was able to figure out is that it's block icon number 100. Which I already knew. So how can I find here which library file is referenced?

it is possible to copy and past the blockicon from another project and connect it manually or via Dynamic Wizard. Can you copy the CFC with the OpDi01_100 and create the blockicon? If the OpDi01_100 is in a @PCS7Typicals file it should created in corresponding process picture. If not then it is clear that the blockicon is missing.
