How minimum pulse a drive can read?  e. g.  If 2048 ppr encoder connected to shaft DIA of 80 mm. So pulse per mm = 32.6 I. e.  mm per pulse  = 0.032 mm. So can it be assumed that phase shift between two signals could bt the least count which drive can read?

Relevance is,  if 90 deg phase shift in encoder signals is mentioned,  then can it be that minimum 1/4 pulse can be read by drive.  I. e.  0.008 mm? 

Here load data is ideal & can move by 0.008 mm. 

Which parameter or specification of drive helps to identify the least count of encoder which drive can read? 

Is it same for G & V Series Sinamics drives? 

Or does it depends on CU? 

I may be wrong, but I suspect a 1 PPR encoder would be accepted to the drive object.

Should you try that with an S drive? Probably not as that’s such a silly low PPR for a high performance VFD.

FYI you are always welcome and invited to launch Starter, create new project, add hardware manually and then add a non drive-cliq (manually configured) encoder.

Then you can play what-if all you like to see what the drive will accept.

I’m guessing I completely missed your real question but I think I gave an acceptable answer by suggesting “create a sample test starter project and try it”.

How can I check minimum pulse count or read by drive?  I do not have physical set up of VFD & motor.  

In motion control systems,  motor axis feedback is connected to drive & via bus data is transferred to motion controller.  So I would like to know how much minimum pulse drive can read? Or how can drive performance is differentiated?  E. G.  S120,  G & V series drive. 

Please excuse me,  if question seems to be silly,  but really I would like to know about it.

I cannot straightway reply/answer to your query. But please refer How much minimum position accuracy can be measuered? reply from Pee El Sea in this topic, accordingly it depends on drive internal resolution standard via which user can find out how encoder minimum pulse is read in drive. Unfortunately I could not get exact reply to my query in this topic.
