I don't have never used profinet and scalance. why used each scalance under PLC? just hub? or something? and what is scalance on the management level? why use cp343-1 module? and what's theethernet switchbefore MES ? why used ethernet protocol on HMI ? how to configure in the HW config s/w? why....what..why..what.. please some advice to me. Q: What is scalance on the management level? A: The scalance on the management level is a Industrial Ethernet switch. You can find something about it under this link: http://w3.siemens.com/mcms/industrial-communication/en/ie/IE_switches_media-converters/scalance-x-000-unmanaged/Pages/scalance-x-000-unmanaged.aspx Q: Why use cp343-1 module? A: You use cp343-1 module to communicate with your other devices on the ethernet. (HMI's, PC's). For sure you can find in siemens support alot of information about CP343-1 (Or just a simple google will direct you there). The advantage of using ethernet on this level is that you can be in charge of all PLC' s and all HMI from one single location, for example just by changing the IP you can perform changes in each PLC from one location. In the HW you must make your networks, and from what i understand from the attched picture the PLC's must communicate between them on ethernet. You can make this in NetPro.
