I have siemens S7 315 with Flash EPROM 6ES7 951-0KF00-0AA0; i would like to change my CP profibus 342-5 to a new version, but i'd have a problem when i setting the hardware config. The CPU was protected by the last user (last user have forgotten the password) could i save my PLC's program? because i don't have any source file or backup file is there any way to open the password or clear the password without clear the PLC memory??

If the other user has just forgotten the password, I'm pretty sure he can give you the project (he keeps backups, doesn't he?), and then you can make the changes there. You then download it as usual. Keep in mind that you can NOT break the password, and that's why it is there in the first place. So no unauthorised person will be tempted to play with the program/device/production/plant etc... You can also use the Search function in upper right hand side of the page when searching for solutions in your problems. You can use for example keywords like "S7-300 password" and usually some useful information comes up. Hope this helps
