olo_P Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hello, Description PC Access says "up to 8S7-200 target systems can be connected simultaneously" so it means that maximum 8 PLC can be connected to one OPC Sever. What to do if i need connect more than8 PLC's, for example about 30?? Can I installPC Access more than once on one computer PC and run every individual installation for the next 8 PLC's ?? best regards Olo

Zunar Posts: 60 Rating: (6)	Husam is correct, only one instance of PC Access is allowed on a computer. PC Access ships as a default supporting 8 connections. An additional license can be purchased to extend this number. However, be aware that you can be limited in your performance depending on the communications device you are using. For example, the RS232 and USB cable have limited connections available and those will be multiplexed if more than 8 PLCs are connected.

olo_P Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	I am going to use Ethernet CP243-1. In the other hand in catalog there is only one licence for 8 connection. There is another licence but for 15 installations. It is not what I need. best regards Olo

Aristotelis Posts: 147 Rating: (34)	Hi Olo If you are going to ≈ 30 PLCs and equal CP243, then I would suggest that one - or more - of the PLCs acts as a data gatherer. This means that you divide your PLCs into groups. Each group sends the data to the "group master". The "group master" is then responsible for representing the data to the OPC server. It seems obvious that you are limited in 8 "group masters", but each one can receive data from x PLCs. If x=3, then 3*8 = 24 24+8 = 32 Hope you get the idea, but take into account that this depends on the data you want to transmit. Also, keep in mind that there may be memory and/or transmission spped limitations. Maybe the "group master" has to be a higher end S7-200, perhaps a 226 CPU, in order to handle the data. Still, this might give you some perspective in solving the problem. Hope this helps Aristotelis

If 6GK1706-0HB71-3AA0 , I haven't found information about possibility connection with S7 200. Producers of OPC servers in every cases clearly write which models of hardware can work with their software. SoI suppose it will not work. Maybe you mean about differ OPC Server than I mentioned?? best regards Olo
