PID FB58 and FB41 Input to PV_PVR

Gabe A, Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	I am sure this is a simple question. I am new to the area of PID controls so, don't laugh too hard at my question . I have read the help file and related toboth PID FBsand I am looking for some clarification on threeissues: 1. I am trying to choose between PID FB58, and PID FB 41. My PV is a 4-20ma thermocouple off an analog input card. The input happens to be IW22. I would like to send IW22 directly to the PV_PVR input of my PID. After reading all the information FB58 seems more user friendly, but PV_PVR is peripheral IW or INT only, while FB 41 allows me to set IW22 as the input to PV_PVR. I can move IW22 to a MW and the program allows me to assign MW to the input of PV_PVR for FB58. Is this the proper way to set my input to PV_PVR for FB58? Is there anyother way to use my thermocouple signal to input the PV_PVR input ? 2. Having never used this before I am looking for clarification on how the Internal Setpoint works. It states the setpoint is set to a REAL from -100.0 - 100.0. So for example a simplified example if my PV thermocouple measrured temp from 0-1000 degrees (W#16#0 through W#16#FFFF) and i wanted my set point to be 500 degrees then I would set the REAL to 0? 3. Is it allowed to let the user change the setpoint in real time? IF the desired temp should change can we change the setpoint and have the PID react to the new setpoint? Thanks All, Gabe
