I am trying to open a HMI project but keep getting the following message

"The databank for this project has been saved with a newer SQL server version than 'Microsoft SQL Server 2005' and can therefore not be opened"

I have tried updating but no joy

this happen if the project was used/created with a newer version of WinCC.

Which WinCC Version you use?
With which version the project was Created/Modified?

The PG is running WinCC Flexible 2008

Not sure what version the HMI was created on, how can I find out?

you can open the .hmi file in a texteditir and search for flexible.

there should be logged which version are used.

I have the same problem but I download Wincc  flexible 2008 SP5

and then the problem has been solved.

That's useful! What if the installed software is the same version as the file? Any other reason this will happen?
