S120 controls electromagnet, load current fluctuates

Friction welding(FRW) is a class of solid-stateweldingprocesses that generates heat through mechanical friction between a moving workpiece and a stationary component, with the addition of a lateral force called "upset" to plastically displace and fuse the materials. My problem is, the load current fluctuates sharply in stable state. How I could control the current and make it fluctuate smoothly? Meanwhile, The Lenze 9326 uses for this type of machine, load current fluctuates ±1A according to the setpoint. Configuration Drive: S120 / CU310 DP: 6SL3040-0LA00-0AA1 PM340: 6SL3210-1SE22-5UA0 TM31: 6SL3055-0AA00-3AA1 25.50 A/ 11.00 kw Load side are two electromagnets, the parameter is Max current: 35.2a Vol: 900v Max feq: 130hz Power: 13.75kw Rated : 25A More details including structure charts and trace could be seen in attachment. DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	Which does the drive operate in: vector, open or closed loop? If current regulation is critical factor in this process, why not run the drive in torque mode instead? This way the drive will be following the required current setpoint directly instead of deriving it from the speed controller. The speed controller will always try to keep the motor at setpoint speed and will vary the torque/current setpoint to achieve correct parameters. To minimize this effect, speed controller gain can be lowered. Speed regulation won't be as good, but current will fluctuate less.
