There are many differences between the systems.
Operation System, Web Based, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Multitouch and more.
Maybe if you read the Migration Manual, you can understand more about the compatibilities and improvements on new Unified System compared with Comfort, Advanced and Professional Systems.
