WinCC flexible alarms from Excell

I have about 10.000 alarms, the texts for these alarms already exsit in excell so don't want to retype or copy/paste them one by one. I know in Protool it was possible, I hope its possible too in WinCC flex.

TL@ Regular Member Joined: 5/19/2008 Last visit: 4/3/2025 Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	That I found as well. Only problem is that the maximum number of alarms you can do, is limited to 4000, I have more than 10.000. So it would work for the first 4000, but rest would still have to be done manually.

93Mustang Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	If you don't want to use that library in the zip files I found another way If you double click on the left side of the discrete alarm list it will create a new alarm I then do a copy paste over and over until I have about 8 alarms then copy all 8 of those and do copy paste until you have 16 than 32 than 64 than 128 than 256 than 512 than 1024 than 2048 than 4096 that 8192 than 16384. It gets pretty slow around the 1024 mark but it hasn't crashed the software for me yet. I only needed 1024 alarms but had to create 2048 so I could display them centered as well as left justified. Can't believe there's no "Center Alarm Text" option. I had to pad them with spaces to make them appear centered grrrrrrr. Anyway when your done you will have unique alarm text from 1 to the # of alarms you want. Next you'll have to add a second language in order to import/export alarms too and from Excel. After you have your alarms created go the the Project Texts and copy all the text you want from one the left column to the right. I used US English on Left with Can English on right but don't think it matters which languages you use. Next right click on discrete alarms and select Export which will allow you to create "Messages.xls" which you can then open in Excel. If you did it right you'll have 2 columns in excel that are the same #"s 1 to 10,000 in your case. Simply copy your alarm text the right hand column and then import back into Wincc Flexible. Go back to Project Texts and copy all the text in the right column back to the left. If you go to discrete alarms your alarm text should be there now. WOW isn't that easy. lol

Works like a charm. Tip: check out the rest of this guy's site, it has more usefull things (http://www.raeppel.de/)
