Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can assist me with a project that I am trying to complete.

I have 7 switches that are detecting the position of a shuttle and two cylinders.

When the switch detects that the shuttle is in a certain position it will then energize the solenoid and the shuttle/cylinder will move and then when this happens the next switch will detect the position and then energize the next solenoid and complete the next move in the cycle.

I have a programmed that works for one full cycle, however for some reason I cant attach the programmed for you to see, am I doing something wrong? do I need to change file type?

I haven't fully decided if I should use a double solenoid 5/2 valve or a spring return. It might be easier with two outputs but if it can be done with spring return (one output).

Cylinders and outputs

There is a 1m cylinder that has a shuttle that moves left to right and right to left. 

There is a clamping cylinder that sits on top of the shuttle that opens and closes. (moving clamp)

There is another clamping cylinder that also opens and shuts further down the line. (fixed clamp)

There is one last output that is the laser cutter that after the process is finished the output will fire the laser cutter.

Inputs

There is an input detecting if the shuttle has arrived at the left or right of the cylinder

There is an input detecting if the clamping cylinder is open or closed

There is an input detecting if the fixed clamp is open or closed.

Cycle

Digital input start pressed

Q1 - Close fixed clamp

I1 - sees fixed clamp closed

Q2 - Open moving clamp

I3 - sees moving clamp open

Q3 - Send shuttle to the left of the cylinder

I4 - sees shuttle at the left

Q4 - open fixed clamp

I1 will then open and Q1 needs to deenergize

I5 - sees fixed clamp open

Q5 - close moving clamp 

I3 will then open and Q2 needs to deenergize

I6 - sees moving clamp closed

Q6 - send shuttle to the right

I4 will open and Q3 needs to deenergize

I7 - sees shuttle at the right

Q7 - Sends signal to laser cutter to fire.

Repeat cycle

The repeated cycle after Q7 should just repeat over and over unless it is stopped.

I am struggling to work out how to use the inputs to get this process to repeat over and over. There is probably a simpler way to do this.
