Wireline Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello: I have a question about Sinema E LEAN I need know the maximun distance of coverage of the device SCALANCE W 788-1PRO (I have used an antenna ATN795-4MR)because when accomplishing the simulation with the program, I get out a coverage of 500 meters in a floor. Iaccomplish a simulation with Sales Wizard with: 600 meters length 300 meters width 20 meters heigth The problem is that the program should evidence a coverage of 100 meters, however, the program evidences 500 meters of coverage. The area of 600 meters x300 meters.it should be covered by 3 devices according to Sales Wizard I wait his answers Bye Attachment questtion.zip (596 Downloads)

Furthermore yes you will be able to connect to the device if there is no obstruction in the area with a 50% of signalstrength but it could be a very bad connection, especially when there is some interference from other devices. So in my opinion 3 AP's would give a far better situation with a higher bandwidth. I'm also not sure what kind of IEEE 802.11 you have used in the sales wizard (I never use it). If this is the 802.11g then the distance which can be made will be slightly less then with 802.11b. I would say create a clear view where you definitely need the coverage and think about at least 2 AP's for this area. When you need a good coverage in the complete plant I suggest to use 3 AP's with 3 different channels. I woul dsuggest to look at the following situation: --------------------- \|\| \|AP\| \|\| \|AP\| \|\| \|AP\| \| \| --------------------- And what kind of communication do you need here? Is it PN IO? Which kind of update time do you need? Or is it TCP/Ip traffic? Maybe 2 AP's will be sufficient then.
