Access Siwarex U with Siwatool V4 software

However, the Siwarex 2U software doesn't run properly (opening a parameter section ==> 'Not enough memory' pop-up. Is there any fix for this?). I read Siwatool V4 can also be used to access a Siwarex U (7MH4950-1AA01). When starting Siwatool V4 (V4.0.12.0), the model no. (7MH49) is visible, together with version 1.1.2. After selecting this and trying to connect, I get an interface error (The connected module cannot be accessed by this application). Using Siwatool 2U to connect works, so the COM-port number and RS232 connection are okay. Thanks in advance! Arne Margodt

Siwarexi Gold Expert Joined: 1/4/2007 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 1147 Rating: (175)	Hello Margodt, The error message „Not enough memory“ is coming, when die ocx-files of the Siwatool-Software isn’t correctly registered in your Windows operating system. To eliminate this error message, you have to go into the installation-path of the Siwatool software (e.g. „C:\programs\...“), and register the single ocx-files by yourself: Do a mouse-right-click on each *.ocx-file, and choose „open with …“. Select the „regsvr32.exe“-file in the path „C:\WINNT\System32“, and execute this file. When you worked with Siwatool V4, and you received the message: „The connected module cannot be accessed by this application.“: Did you connected a PLC or an ET200M Interface Module to the Siwarex U module? I ask, because the Siwarex U module needs a connection to a PLC or a ET200M Interface Module. Otherwise the Siwatool software doesn’t work. Best regards Siwarexi

The Siwarex U module is connected to an ET200M, which is on a PLC Profibus network. Any other ways to solve the Siwatool V4 issue? Thanks already for the quick response! Kind regards Arne M.

Maybe this latest Siwatool V4 software avoid your error message. Please contact the Siwarex Hotline for the latest Siwatool V4 software:hotline.siwarex@siemens.com Unfortunately I can’t send to you the software in this Forum, because the Siwatool V4 software is no freeware. One question regarding Siwatool V4: Are you using the same computer and the same Siwatool cable as for the Siwatool V2 software? (I ask, because you wrote, that now the Siwatool V2 software is working on your computer. You can install the Siwatool V2 and V4 software on the same computer.) Best regards Siwarexi
