Hi Navnag, active bus modules are required when you want to remove/plug IM/IO modules in RUN. If you can afford to switch your system into STOP mode in these cases they are not required. We always use active bus modules in our H-Systems whileacomplete systemshutdowncosts the client a fortune. On the other hand - if they pay for it ? Best Regards. |

Hello TIBI68 Well we do not have a choice when using tradational ET200M with Profibus Redundant communication with S7-400H as it will not work without active bus modules regardless of whether we need Module Change during runtime or not . I understand this is because bus has to be switched between one of the two IMs. I understand from your post that I can use ET200M with Profinet ( S7-400H - PN network ) without Active bus modules ( If I do not need need Module replacement in Run facility ). In any case there is only one IM and no Bus switching is needed. Thanks indeed Cheers Navnag |
