I'm trying to connect an S71214C DC/DC/DC to a SCADA (Elipse E3) software we are building but I'm having some issues.

I can't get no return on the data (although the log says I'm actually connected). The Elipse support team told me to try rollback the firmware version from 4.3 to 4.1

So I went to the "Change device" submenu and switched the version to 4.3 to 4.1, then downloaded the software. Everything ok, but when I "go online" the version display differs from the chosen one.

Am I doing this correctly? I'm grateful for the help in advance.

When I tried to rollback via file (4.1.1) from siemens support page, i got the message "The firmware file was not accepted by the module."

I also don't know why this would fix the issue, but that's the only guidance I got from their support.

this are two different storys.

If you rollback/change the firmware in the project you can transfer this to the CPU even if the CPU itself runs with a newer firmware.
The newer firmware on the CPU is compatible with projects configured with an older firmware.
But - the TIA project does not roll back the firmware of the cpu itself.

To downgrade the firmware of the cpu itself, you need to install the firmware like you did in the second step.
But some hardware (not all) have interconnections between hardware and firmware.
The reason why the firmware was not accepted is, that your CPU hardware is too new for the older firmware, which was already described previously.

-> "NOTICE: S7-1200 CPUs with Functional Stand 05 (FS: 05) or later cannot be downgraded to firmware versions prior to V4.2.0."

In your screenshot of online diagnostics you can see that the S7-1200 has hardware version (FS) "14" .

Long story short. You can not roll back the firmware of your S7-1200 to V4.1.x.
