Good day,

I'm working with TIA V17 and have to communicate with a S7-400 by means of a PN/PN Coupler.

The S7-400 is connected to X1, and don't have a GSDML file to insert in TIA.

When I insert a PN/PN coupler in my (TIA) HW-config, I can parametrize both sides (I have the IP-adress S7-400 side).

I 'see' the PN/PN coupler by means of PRONETA and by 'ping' but TIA keeps on indicating that the PN/PN Coupler is not available on the network.

Anyone some suggestions?  A big thanks in advance

If I good remember, you need configure PN Coupler on both sides with HW cfg, it means on S7-400 also. If your S7-400 prj is programmed with Step7 Simatic manager, no problem, you need cfg all I/O data same on both sides but with respect to rule that on one side are Inputs then on oposite are Outputs. I recommend check typical your PN COupler version system manual where all cfg possibilities are described.

I think that your type of PN Coupler is located inside HW catalogue, in other case some GSDML can be found and imported in my opinion. This means that in case of older Step7 v5.x SW some new components can't be available and some GSDML file then can be imported.

Pls be kind specify all your PLC HWs programmed with what type of SW for sure.
