Communication Barcodereader and PLC

Claudiu G. Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I need your help in order to establish communication via profibus between a barcode reader and a siemens PLC. To be more specific I have the following barcode readerSICK CLV450-0010 connected a CDM 420 001 connection module in order to convert the serial signal to profibus. The PLC I use is an CP 315-2 DP. I am interested in all the steps required in order to acomplish this communication. I did tried to find an GSD file of the connection module but with no luck, I'm not even sure that this is the right way to do it. Thanks all , Claudiu Gogoseanu

And it is strange that you didn't receive it with profibus module's package. There should have also a manuals about necessary settings. Let's try to see what have in Internet. Meanwhile you could contact directly with SICK and ask for gsd file eventually. BTW On the CDM420 should have optional module CMF400-1x01 Fieldbus Mod. (PROFIBUS-DP)“ OI (no. 8010462). Do you have it? And then the necessary GSD file isthere Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
